1. Taj Mahal
A Symbol of Love, the Taj Mahal located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India is known all over the world for its beautiful architecture, history, and the reason behind its construction. The Taj Mahal was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan which he dedicated to his wife Mumtaz.
The Taj Mahal houses her tomb and also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan too. The iconic Taj Mahal is built with Ivory-White Marble and other precious stones and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983. It has been a must-visit tourist destination when you visit India.
2. Colosseum
Colosseum in Rome, Italy is a Flavian Amphitheatre. This oval-shaped Amphitheatre is located at the center of the capital city and was built from 72 AD – 80 AD. Its construction began under Emperor Vespasian and was completed by his successor Titus and is one of the largest amphitheaters in the world capable of housing 80,000 spectators.
In ancient times, the Colosseum was the place for gladiator battles, mock battles, and other animal hunts, etc. Now it is one of the popular and iconic symbols of Rome.
3. Chichen Itza
Located in Mexico, Chichen Itza is an archaeological site located in Tinum Municipality of Yucatan State. It is a large Pre-Colombian city built by the Maya people and one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico.
Along with Chichen Itza, buildings like the El Caracol or observatory of Chichen Itza, Temple of the Warriors, Grand Ballcourt, and Venus Platform are all the most touristic visited sites. Chichen Itza is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1988.
4. Christ the Redeemer
One of the very well-known works of art in Brazil, Christ the Redeemer is an art deco statue overlooking mountains in Brazil. It was created by the French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face.

5. Petra, Jordan
Petra is a historical and archaeological city in Southern Jordan. Petra was believed to have been inhabited as early as 7000 BC and can be accessed by a 1.2km gorge. The town was rediscovered around 1812 by Johann Ludwig Burckhardt and it is called Rose city due to the color of the stone from which it is built.
Tourists visit rose city due to its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
6. Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China as the name suggests is located in China. It is a series of fortification systems built across the borders of the country. The purpose of constructing the Great Wall of China is to protect the country against several empires.
It is known to be built as early as the 7th Century BC and the well-known sections of the wall were built by the Ming Dynasty. It is said to be measuring 21,196 km and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Center since 1987…
7. Machu Pichu
Machu Pichu is a 15th Century Inca Citadel that is a famous and familiar icon of the Inca and is often referred to as the Lost City of the Incas. It is located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru on a 7,970 ft mountain ridge.
Many archaeologists believe that the construction of this city was constructed by Inca Emperor Pachacuti in 1450 and was abandoned a year later. It was bought to international attention in the year 1911 by American historian Hiram Bingham. It is one of the famous destinations which was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
